Our Wonderful Staff
Hello Everyone! I am excited to be here as the new NDPCI Supervisor and Teacher. I live in Cambridge with my partner Steve, my daughter Hazel, and my son Oaken. We have a cat named Rogue and a Turtle named Gandalf who is 28 years old! We all love to be outside as much as possible, especially going for hikes in woods.
I have been a RECE since 2011 and feel truly passionate about early childhood development. I feel very fortunate to have spent most of my time teaching through a Reggio-Inspired educational philosophy. This is an educational model from Italy that focuses on child development through fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity!
I am looking forward to year full of wonder with all of you!

Hi everyone! My name is Mallory Swegles, but you can call me Ms Mallory. I am so excited to be a part of the North Dumfries Preschool team as the Support Teacher, and to get to know more families in the community.
My husband and I have been together for sixteen years, and moved to Ayr nine years ago. We have two children and two cats. Our kids are five and one, so they keep us very busy, and we love playing outside, creating art, and reading books.
I have a BA and post-graduate certificate, with extensive experience working in the non-profit sector. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the last six years, and love volunteering with local organizations to support the children in our community, like Girl Guides, Lang’s, and School Council. I am so excited to continue working with local families as part of the Preschool team!”
